Rizal, if he were to enter government service in the present Philippines

He would not work for the government.

Overheard that in the March 2024 LET, a question on Rizal's would-be government post was asked if he were to live in the present Philippines.

Thing is, he would not work for the government, I would assume.

Rizal is a polyglot, a pretty good one. He would land a career in the corporate world. He'd take a job in the BPO industry and work for a bilingual account.

That'll make him earn a minimum monthly salary of Php 60,000 for a Spanish account, excluding the incentives and premiums.

Or, Rizal would be working abroad for his 'Mother Spain' and probably practice medicine or teaching there, whichever he finds applicable.

Rizal is over-talented; he is brimming with it. Modern-day Philippines barely gives a sh*t about genuine talent and genius. (We couldn't even attract Filipino scientists who have made their way abroad.)

His entry to government service would only take a toll on him as he pass professionalization exams, i.e., the endless paper trail.

I mean, Rizal is Rizal.

The Philippines doesn't deserve Rizal. This nation can never compensate his genius and insights.

The present Philippines will only ruin him.

Plus, Rizal may have been an active initiator of projects, but I would argue that his training was not in politics. He trained as a medical practitioner, heeding his brother Paciano's piece of advice to stay away from the ugly and messy world of politics.
